Is anybody out there that can help me? Someone in the aftermarket turbo forum told me they don't make ECUs that do that for my car. Someone else said they make one that removes the speed limiter. PLEASE HELP! Thanks.

From the forums and from what I have read, people have better results with proECM chip. The torque chip also works but the dyno seems to show no improvements, although I heard of people shaving off half a sec off their quarter mile so it doesn't seem to be just 'sneak oil'. Like I said, they are both good but proECM seems to be in preference.

i dont recall ever seeing any comments about the torquechip. i think you should be skeptical of any claimed dyno proven gains but im really skeptical of the torquechip's claimed 12 ft-lb improvement. i think if i was to get one it would be the pro ecm just because most people seem to be happy with it although it seems like most people say there arent many gains from it.

Thanks, by what I hear everyone likes the proECM as well. I don't really know what to think of the gains each chip has or supposedly has. If I do get that chip, will it be sorta like getting a new car as far as having to break it in or will I just drive normally?

Most folks can get an ECU reset by disconnecting the neg batt cable, hitting the brake pedal (in case of a little residual charge) and waiting about 15-30 minutes. The post mentioning the cool down period is interesting in that the car MAY need to see 2-3 drive cycles (basically warmup till the fans come on and cool down till the thermostat closes) to begin closed loop adaptive mode. It;s a good idea to do this after any engine-type mod or repair work. Some folks say there is a fuse that will reset the ECU if you pull it. anyone?

Holy crap I'm getting comfused. I've heard so many different ways to reset my ECU its rediculous. If I do something wrong like not reset the ECU even tho I thought I did, what would happen? Anything?
