Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

do i need to change my head bolts?

Well I picked up all my gaskets $171 worth. I mentioned to my friend all the stuff I bought and he read me the riot act because I said I didn't buy new head bolts. He said that when ever you take your heads off you sould replace the bolts. The theory he said was that when ever you torque a bolt down it stretches the bolt, when you take it out the bolt is still streched. I asked my dad (old school muscle guy) and he said that that was the case with corvair bolts back in the day because the bolts they used stock were too thin.
My question is have things changed that much between my dads time and mine?
Do I need to replace my headbolts or is that just paranoia?
