Anyone out there have a cold air intake on your 99? If so, how did you do it, are you using COBB's intake? I'd like to use COBB's 2000 cold air intake and throw the MAF adapter in there, anyone do this? If you have, any side effects? Any check engine lights? Will I need to reset the computer?

 

I have the same car. I put a weapons R intake on it. I allready had a full 3" exaust on the car when I bought it. The speed shop sold me some adaptors, about $15 worth, to mount the MAS between the pipe and filter. It's not a cold air intake, just a free flow. Guy's in the club say Weapons are POS, but it has been great for me, I couln't believe the high end power that it gave me! Also, and I don't know if this is common, I'm on my third MAS since I put the intake on 10,000 miles ago. It lets so much air flow through, that it just tares them apart.

 

if intakes are inproperly installed or are set up without proper equipment theyll ruin the MAF

 

check to see if it is firmly mounted, it may rattle around or vibrate which can damage the sensitive components on the MAF

 

read the "Tech Articles" on cobbtuning.com they have a whole comparison between MAF and MAP and how intakes effect them
