code help po483

my car is throwing up 2 codes one is po420 which is the o2 sensor i believe , po483 which is the control fan rationality check it says but im not sure exactly what this means or how to fix it any help would be greatly apreciated

What mods do you have? The P420 code is Cat Inefficiency, usually caused by aftermarket headers. Bad O2 sensor is the next most common cause. Without checking the FSM, I don't know the cause or cure for the other code.

ya .. no mods... thats what was bothering me .. so i believe thats just a bad o2 sensor .. not really what i wanted to hear tho...the other code im still kind of confused about ... it seems that my fans are working so im not sure why that would be coming up and if i reset the cel then it doesnt come on untill the o2 sensor code comes on so i was thinnking that they might be some how connected... thanks for the help so far guys
