CEL diagnosis

Just got a CEL on my 93 L how do i go about determaning what its for?

Get the code pulled from either someone with a code reader, the dealer, or at an Autozone parts store (it's said that they'll pull the code at no charge).

Ditto, Autozone will loan you the code reader.

that doesn't sound right at all

a code should look like p0308 or along those lines

Thats what i was thinking too but i read in the Haynes computer somethere or other book that you can read the flashes of the CEL light. Its a 93 so its OBDI and they cant pull the codes with those digital things. Anybody know what i need to do?
