Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Question 98 OBS - 2 questions

2 problems that have yet to be solved.

1. A engine miss when accelerating between 2000 and 2500. Hesitation and loss of power. Does not occur when accelerating real slowly. Might be fuel type related. Has been there since new.

2. Cruise control stopped working. Fuse was good. What else could be wrong?

98 Impreza outback sport.

Thinking of trading it in for a Honda Fit.
My dad asked me to post this up and see if anyone has an answer for him. Let me know if you have anything he can try, and also if I need to post this up in some other section.

the CC control might be worn out/busted...might have to get that replaced...you can test to see if the connections to the control is getting power (if you have a volt meter)

as for the hesitation...is it a manual or auto?

Misfire? Fuel, plugs and wires, clean the MAF sensor. CC check all connnections, if I recall the cruise control is a vacuum related system. This might be the cause of all your problems.
