Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

2007 2.5i MODS

Hey... i see alot of stuff here and there's nothing really avialable for a 2007 Impreza 2.5i, know its still fairly new but a couple things i want to do to it..

has anyone tried to change the exhaust on this car? I want to get a HKS Carbon Ti its a 3'' pipe, but it come up for WRX and STI models up to year 06.

2 questions: will an exhaust for a wrx 06 fit my 07 2.5i? and the second do i need to change my downpipe to fit a 3'' pipe?

Thanks for the help ahead of time.. i'm a noob to subies wat can i say.

I believe this would be what you're looking for. It fits the WRX's and Sti's from 2004 to present..

I believe, most 06 parts from a WRX will fit on the 2.5impreza

First, it is not good for ur car to have a wrx exhaust because most wrx exhaust are 3". A 3" exhaust is WAY to big for non-turbo cars because u will loss a lot of low end. 2.25" is the perfect size, 2.5" is ok too.
Second, what u need to look for is a rs exhaust. All 98-05 rs exhaust will fit ur car, but the midpipe flange has to be rotated. This can be done in any exhaust shop easily. Or just go to any exhuast shop n tell them that u need a 2.25" catback made.
Third, N/A cars do not have downpipe or up pipe.
Our car:
Header >> cat pipe>> midpipe>> muffler

Hope this helps

i was under the impression the 06-07 2.5i used the same exhaust connection as the WRX now...so all WRX exhausts should bolt right up (getting an older RS exhaust will require you to weld in a 1" spacer and rotate the flange)

at least i was told that they new share the same flange connection

if you want an exhaust made for the 2.5i just get the stromung midpipe from boxer4racing.com and then buy any axleback you want (that flange hasn't like ever changed...so any axleback should bolt right up) the midpipe is already modified to fit the 2.5i cat flange and it is 2.25" in diameter...so it's the perfect size...

i personally went with the stromung midpipe and the stromung XA axleback...but there is PLENTY of axlebacks out there you can pick from...but my $.02...just get the midpipe made for our car and then piece your own kit :P

i have a 2.5" cat back (custom made) on my 07 2.5i, with NO resinator, and the car is LOUD!

also modified a wrx intake to work. but will be ordering the injen intake this week sometime.

and i just got done installing my Apexi SAFC in the car.

right now i'm researching as to what is the best header for mid-high end torq/hp. (which the headers from a WRX/STI will fit!)

ALSO, i'll make this clear like i did before in moany posts!!

all 2.5i have a 2.5" stock header & Cat piping!!!! do NOT use 2.25" as this is still restictive as well as the stock 2" cat back piping!
so use anything 2.5" or bigger (dont want it loud? put a resinator in)

Did the 06' pipping receive a change in diameter?
There was a thread from nasioc stating that the largest / recommended diameter pipping should be 2.25". But that's what I heard.

I frankly went with a 2.25" custom catback w/ magnaflow muffler and no resonator. Still not loud enough for me. Maybe a cat delete should fix that; but i don't want that CEL lol

Oh wellz. Intake + headers + high flow cat + pp6 should be on the way during and after summer

I actually have a video clip, but . . . poorly made
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyVqRSr4nBg

I'll try to make a new one, with better quality and angle

there was a test done using 2.5 and 2.25 piping and if i recall there wasn't a difference between them...just sound (well there was a difference but it was within the +/- range)
