Does anyone elses 2.5rs feel like it hesitates at aroun 4,000 rpms under hard acceleration? I mean its not like major, but i can defentially feel it, and hear it. I donno i was just wondering, so any help would be nice. And if i were to get a air intake would it solve this? thanks.

So takin it back to the delear to get the ecu changed doesnt do anything, would getting headers make it better??

 

ooo my bad, i thought you said it didnt do a thing. Sorry bro. I'm not the original owner though, and my car is a 2000 2.5rs. Its that the year that they recalled?

 

2000 is one of the years that was recalled for the reflash, but not all cars need it. Go to the dealer, they will look up your VIN and see if your car is in the recall. Mine was, and I did get the reflash. Semmed to help some, but that little flat spot is still there. It's just part of the car, had to get rid of, unless you go FI

 

Well i have to take my car into the delear tomorrow to get the o2 sensor checked out, this is the 3rd time its gone bad. Anyways I'll probally have them check out if my car was one of the ones recalled.

 

Will they reflash it if you have an intake on?
Also, mine just started doing it at 55k... When did everyone else's start?

 

i don't feel any kind of delay but try this: part throttle ur car so it climb slowly up the revs... as it pass 4000 the engine will get get rough but calms after u go there for longer. it kinda feels like when you let out your throttle on a low get ( smoothly) but i don't feel any delay in speed though

 

Yes, because it's an ECU upgrade, not a repair of a failed part, so it shouldn't matter if you have the intake on. I did, and I had no problem, but my dealership is very mod friendly. And as for when it started do it, my car has always had a little flat spot a around 3500 RPM. ost other peoples seem to be like that, too, something that's always been there. Did you recently do something to your car? If so, maybe it just made the flat spot more noticable.

 

WElll ive kinda noticed the same thing my question is if it matters that i have an air/fuel gauge thats tapped into my ecu. will they just tell my they wont do it?

Umm, notice I did the grounding mod.
I had roughly 48k on my car at the time.

I will call the dealer. Mine is Langston Subaru, MRT exclusive dealer. They are mod friendly considering the owner has a 13 second WRX.
