Do you have a boost gauge? From your previous post you said nothing about having a boost gauge, so i'll assume you don't have one. You either over boosted and didn't hit fuel cut which i don't think you can do or its just a cat efficency CEL. I believe since you don't have any cats thats why your getting the cel now. Do a search on Pony Express CEL fix and oder that baby. It works on the STi since a friend of mine is using it on his. Oh b4 you go buying anything find a OBD-II scanner and pull the code if possible for the STi and check just to be sure.

Okay guys, am I understanding this thread correctly? A turbo back exhaust needs to have it's wastegate ported. While a cat-back exhaust can run with the stock wastegate. Hopefully, as tuners become more familiar with the USDM STi motor horsepower will come without too many drawbacks. As it seems right now the STi's motor is a finicky one. I was planning to run a downpipe and exhaust, any suggestions?

Maybe if you look into getting as downpipe w/ a high flow cat in it. Maybe the high flow cat will have enough restriction that you won't get any boost creep? But i guess until someone buys one we will never know.

But you also have to use the stock boost seloniod.
If you try to run a MBC your car will still get boost creep in 5th & 6th There is 1 EBC that i know for sure that fixed the boost creep issue in 5th&6th. That would be the SBC-ID, but i'm not sure if i'll work on an STi w/ just an TBE. Maybe someone will try this and then STi owners won't have to send there turbo's out

Talking Now you have

Because i'm in Hawaii and my bud has an STi and so do numerous others here w/ TBE are having boost creep. So its no longer left up to climate but its happening to all those that have TBE's

Whoops, I meant to say fuel cut. I'll modify it. Do you guys get fuel cut in HI?

The main point I'm trying to illustrate is that as the temp goes down, the air molecules are more dense. Then as it passes though the hot engine it expands causing greater boost creep. So lower temps. = increased effects of boost creep.

What kind of peak boost pressures are you getting down in HI and what gear, mario?
Yep evently you can end up hitting fuel cut if you boost to 18 psi, but just let off the gas and thats prevented.

Now on the boost in which gear i don't know since a friend of mine installed a SBC-ID i haven't riden in his car. But when it was on the stock solenoid he was about 1st-12, 2nd 13, 3rd 14 and the same on up
