STI IC water sprayer advice

I just bought an 05 sti, i drive the car pretty hard, and i was wondering how often should i be spraying my intercooler with the IC water sprayer, and do i have to worry about spraying it too much?

Pretty much never. In all honesty, the sprayer is a gimmick. On the street you'll probably never need that extra evaporative cooling unless you're running a lot more power than stock. On the track, I never had the opportunity to take my hands of the wheel at 9/10 to use it. But I can tell you that I've pulled into the paddock after a 30 minute session around Thunderhill and the TMIC was cool to the touch.

An automated system, running off of a pressure sensor might help you yield an extra few whp, but otherwise the system isn't going to do much for you.

I was surprised by this also. I have a APS TMIC and I have driven my car very hard only to come back and feel the IC and it is VERY cool to the touch. So it is doing its job very well. And this is not 130 mph driving, just 2nd and 3rd gear romps through my local twisties. Maybe only at the drag strip in the staging lanes this would be a good thing (bag of ice ftw).
