me and my friend re-routed his windshield wiper fluid system to spray (water) on the intercooler, and i was wondering if there was anyway we could make a seperate switch so the windshield wipers wont come on, and so you wont have to hold down the spray button on the end of the lever (kind of hard to do while driving!). any suggestions are helpful. and yes, i did a search!

The purpose is to spray water onto the intercooler. This water evaporates which takes heat from the intercooler, which in turn takes heat from the air going through it. In a nutshell it helps cool the air going into the engine. Cooler air is denser and has more oxygen, which adds power. Also, keeping cool air going in might help the engine avoid detonation, but i dno't know how much a few degrees of intake air temp will help that, best to deal with that through tuning. On a stock WRX, it will help alleviate (heat soak) where the intercooler becomes too hot to effectively do it's job, like at a stoplight on a hot summer day. If you've had your car during the warm months you'll know it's a dog on a 90 degree afternoon compared to a cool morning. So, yeah it could have a place on a stock rex. The new STI and Evo both come with them standard.

I am at work right now when I get home I will try to post some pics. I set this up on my WRX. I used the WW pump. The only problem that I had was that the wipers go every time I want the spray. So I wired in a diode and a switch to ground. The diode lets the WW run without running the wipers. If you are some what handy with a solder iron it took about 2 hours but now that I know what wire to cut it should only take about 15 min.
I will check what wire and try to take some pics when I get home
