Resonator/air silencer removal?

Resonator/ Air Silencer
Just got a new Sti and the one who referred this site to me told me to remove the air resonator and add a K&N air filter. But how? Any tips? Just cause dont want to damage anything....Thanks

If you don't want to purchase the GP Moto elbow I have in the link, you can simply hacksaw off the bottom of the stock silencer and duct tape over the opening, like here: http://www.egansworld.com/oldsite/Silencer.html
