Researched, need input
So I've been driving an '06 wagon for a couple years now, and I finally decided to juice it up a bit.
I've done some research, some saving, and came to the conclusion that I want to jump right to stage 2, possibly 3.
I'm leaning towards going with the stage 2 package offered by Cobb Tuning, Cobb Stage 2 with accessport and exhaust. I found ImportImageOnline has very competitive packages as well. Stage 3
Cheaper Stage 3
I like the sound of the Cobb TBE, the TurboXS, and SPT.
I was thinking about going with K&N Typhoon, SPT, or Cobb for intake.
For some strange reason, the name TurboXS doesn't quite make me feel comfortable. Probably because I am a 240sx freak, and an aftermarket company with XS at the end of their name made some ebay junk that the community highly frowned upon.
My primary goal is no more than 300whp, which means down the road I'm looking toward upgrading to an 18g turbo.
At this point, what seems like my best path for money/power efficiency?
Build off the Cobb package, build my own, or buy one of the IIO packages...I don't want to jump into a decision without being fully comfortable, it is a lot of money.
Any help/input would be very much appreciated!

I think stage 2 is your best bet, You really do not want to go front mount until you upgrade the turbo. Just my 2 cents from reading other peoples results on here.
Also, if you break down the package into parts you can ussually get a better deal plus better parts, depending on your wants/needs. also just a thought. Keep us posted though

yea, it will definately be within the month, I plan to do all the installs myself
I'll keep this thread updated with progress.
I probably won't purchase anything until the weekend, so everyone please keep putting in!

I have had a few TurboXS products and they have been good performers. I have a TurboXS turboback exhaust that I bought in 2004, it was first on my wrx wagon and now its on my STi, good finish, perfect fitment and sounds great (high flow cat and standard TXS muffler). I also had the TurboXS top mount intercooler on my old wrx but sold it to my friend when I parted out the wagon....in hind sight I kinda wish I kept it for my STi. It is a good performer.
That said, I am not a TurboXS 'FanBoi' by any means
I pipe is a pipe and unless you buy some cheap pos that doesnt fit, you cant really go wrong with any turboback exhaust. APS, Cobb, TXS, there are many, many brands, plus its always possible to buy a downpipe and then add a catback of your choice. It just depends on what kind of sound and look that you want (and of course budget). I choose TXS because it had the best sound (imo), didnt have a ricer angled muffler and got lots of great reviews, plus I got it on sale in a group buy, free shipping and free exhaust hangers.
Sounds like you are on the right path...although, personally (and everyone always debates the intake issue) I wouldnt bother with an intake until you get a larger turbo...plus you should discuss turbo and intake choices with whomever is tuning the car, you dont want to buy a turbo and intake that your tuner doesnt like to work with! Tuners can be very picky.
Oh yeah, I would definitely get a custom tune also.

OK, I know what you're talking about now, its some company on ebay that is borderline infringing on the TurboXS name calling it "XS Power". Pretty shady and unethical if you ask me.
thanks for the info!
i pm'd eq tuning about his AP's he's advertising, if i can find some good group buy or blowout special on here for a tbe then i'll definitely go with that
yea, that XS brand on ebay had exhaust manifolds that would snap and crack from engine torque haha

update:
Cobb emailed me saying the downpipe was on backorder and will take 3-4 weeks for delivery, i'm an impatient mother ****er so i said to cancel it
called up LIC Motorsports and scheduled my rex to get fitted with a custom exhaust and the accessport, so this time tomorrow i'll be cruisin with my new found glory!
