supposedly there is a method to make the ECU pick up points faster so your ignition is fully upped.

There is a number the ecu uses to adjust your ignition timing through some complex math curve. The higher the number the more advanced your timing will be.

So... the method....

According to a few of the real guru's with a cleared ecu i believe you take the car up to low-moderate speeds with the rpm at like 2500rpm and apply 1-2psi of boost by accellerating and braking lightly for about 10-15 seconds. This should put the number at the maximum.

There is a thread on this just search for it.

Oh and i should mention with normal driving the ecu is quite slow to up your target iginition advance number but i think it will drop easily.

According to vishnu the ECU is pretty slow at picking up the timing with normal driving. If you want the immediate power i would do the reset. Sounds to me like it would take most of a tank of gas to up the timing the way Vishnu put it.
