PLease Help !! Feul pump problems, i think
HI,
I have an 04 sti, and it has been modified. I had a walbro fuel pump and it went bad. car didnt start - banged on the gas tank and it would start then die. so i replaced it with CNT racing pump. if you check out the web site it is better the the walbro -( but i cant really be sure.) now the the car's AFR is lower then it was with the walbro. boosting around 17 psi, i was getting 14 something. now I am getting a crappy 11.1 . PLease help!!!! It was tuned for the walbro, could that be the problem. not that i have the CNT. or dose the new pump just suck!!

I think that's your problem....of its flowing more or less than what it was tuned for that may be throwing off your readings.... Hit up whoever tuned you and talk to them

GST is always busy which is cool but Mike will always return a PM or a message within a few hours to no more than a day.
I would PM GST with your problem, or if it suits you geographically I would just stop by. They will always take a look at the problem if you stop in.

I will try PMing mike if i can find him on this.
I also want to ask all of you if it could be my filter? I did not change that. but the pump is running fine. one other thing i tried was changing maps. it was the same and ran lean, then i turn it back to the gst map and it was still running 11.1 under boost. just driving it is around its 13-15. will this be ok to drive for a bit to save up some money to fix it? thanks for everyones help...

I thought about that, but there has not been any problems like fluttering of fule or no issues starting up any more. ???? the parts dealer said the filter should be good for the life of the car ? Talked to Mike - gst , he said he thinks it is fine and can check my mapping - i just have to find time to get there... car has been running fine, so other then the a/f r. reading funny . its good.
