PE1820 on an STi
What else would i need to run this turbo on my car? Can i just replace the VF39 with the 1820 and run the stock ECU, injectors, and pump? And does this turbo have that much more power over the stock STi turbo VF39?
Yeah, You've Probably Never Heard Of Me.

Also, the 1820 is a nice turbo, but I always felt for the price there were alot of better options out there, how much power were you looking to make?
you might want to check this thread out, it may be the route you want to go to support the turbo

You are going to need.......bigger injectors, a new fuel pump, and engine management.....to run the PE 1820.
Also a good turbo back exhaust if you don't already have one would help a lot.

I hear this a lot but what are better options...FP Greens, SR50's???
The fit and finish on the PE turbos is worth the price alone. If you want to make good HP #'s not super big #'s the PE's are the way to go.
FP's look like crap....and I know looks don't really matter but...to spend some big $$$ on something that looks homemade....I don't know about that. Oh and when one of the Hawaii guys got one to install on his wagon it was missing the oil line and we had to grind a piece down so it would fit. I think it was the flange on the coolant piece, I can't remember. A lot of us didn't think to highly of the FP.
Yeah, the pe1820 makes good numbers on pump gas and could be a great for a daily driver. the fp green is always boosting 20+psi to make good #'s. But perrin's sti with the fp green is going to be needing a new clutch because the stock clutch cant handle the power. Also, the 2.5 liter reduces turbo lag so the fp green would hit full boost at around 3700-3800 rpms.
if you arent a dragger, id go with the pe1820
btw freddie is selling his pe1820 https://www.i-club.com/forums/norcal-classifieds-96/1wrx2nv-part-out-must-see-64662/

Is there anyone that makes a ECU or has the software to run a PE1820 on an STi? Also, will the 1820 pull more than the stock VF39 does with an exhaust, ported WG, downpipe and a headers?
