CEL= check engine light. If your exhaust is catless you will get one unless you get the CEL fix. If your exhaust is 3", catless, with a good downpipe design, then yes, most likely you will get overboost on occasion. If the muffler or downpipe are restrictive then you probably don't have to worry.

congrats on ordering the sti
i have the apexi gt-spec also, you will need a cel fix, perfebly a mechanical cel fix. the mechanical cel fix everyone has is a little too long, so u will need to unscrew it and use the top half. as far as boost cut, i have only had boost cut a few times only on 6th gear, on my car there hasn't boost cut in any other gear. but i dont know how it will be because you dont have a catless downpipe like i do. update us when you get the exhaust on

OK this is crazy!!! I thank the people that help me; it is people like you guys are what keeps me coming back to the forums.

Now for the people that have nothing to say but crap, I'm in the Navy and the Military is the king of acronyms, and yes I did a search to try to figure out that C.E.L. means, plus when you look in the Manual it doesn't have CEL in it. So let’s drop this!!! I didn’t know what it was so I asked.
