need some help here!!!
ok so i brought my sti to a shop to get rear diff bushings changed as i dont have the tools to get the studs out (attempted and failed) but thats beside the point. the mechanic obviously was ignorant enough to think that the rubber that sits inside the rear subframe outrigger (not to be confused with aftermarket outrigger bushings) was the rear diff bushings...he shredded the rubber that resides in the outrigger in an attempt to remove it before looking at the instructions i gave him to see that HE WAS DESTROYING MY CAR....here is a picture

does anyone know if i can get new rubber for the outrigger or do i have to get something else...wow im pissed
after i blew a gasket he than changed the rear diff bushings free of charge and when i figure out how to fix what he broke then they will fix that to free of charge but im not sure how to fix it hmmm

Yo
I am in the process of replacing mine right now. It is very difficult to remove them. There is a rubber bushing with a thin steel sleeve surrounding it. You can attempt to press this out. I had no luck so I am going to sawzall/ cut the steel collar and chisel it out then clean the surface and press my new Noltec bushings in.
Here they are

I had to cut mine on both sides of the bushing sleeve. Once they were cut I drove a screw driver between the sleeve and the housing. I did not have a chisel otherwise I would have used it. Once there was I nice gap the bushing popped out. They were in there for about 8 years so they were tough.
