Need some exhaust advice...
I just traded my 04 Tiburon GT in for a 2006 WRX TR. I have a EVO 2 exhaust system left from my Tib that I'm thinking about selling or going to a shop and having a custom exhaust done. I love the sound of the boxster engine and EVO's sound sweet. I'm not sure how far back I should go with the exhaust. I need some advice on how to approach this. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...also is there a newbe section where new members introduce themselves to the forum?

A turboback exhaust is the way to go, it includes a downpipe (connects the turbo to the catback section) and a catback. i would suggest that you get some type of engine management for the '06 though before you get any bolt-ons because the car is finnicky with the tuning and will run like crap without EM..... Cobb's accessport is a popular and easy to use solution but there are a couple systems you could choose from. happy modding!

If you get a downpipe/turboback you need some kind of engine management like an accessport or ecutek so it will run right. You should get the accessport regardless of exhaust anyways, the car will run smoother and have more power like furley said.

don't cut the tib exhaust...
Sell it instead as a whole package to another tib owner/you will get more money for it...you will be better off getting a system made for your WRX than using the, most likely smaller/more restrictive inlet diameter piping of the tib exhaust (probably 2" or so)...
Most TBE (Turbo Back Exhaust) systems for the WRX/STI consist of a bellmouth downpipe tapering down to 3" to 3.5" piping...some to 2.5"...and most cat-backs that connect to this downpipe consist of the same 2.5" - 3.5" piping...the most common is 3"...too big for most non-turbo application that require back-pressure for low end power...but remember, with a turbo, you don't want any restriction after the turbo...
Sell it intact and buy a quality TBE or at least a Cat-Back system that will bolt up to your stock downpipe...you won't be sorry...
