Mods And Tune??

Well i just have a few questions and i would like your guys imput...Well i have 05 STI and the car is pretty much stock just HKS Ti Catback,Tein Type Flex Coilovers, Defi Gauges, and Perrin tubo inlet.. well i was thinking of doing some mods such as Downpipe,UEL Headers, turbo, and tune... but the car is coming up on 90k and i was wonder if i should go ahead with the mods or hold off and rebuild? Because i keep hearing storys about how weak the pistion rings are on our motors ...So your imput would mean alot thanks... oh by the way i do keep up on on the Maintenance and the car is never redline its my baby LOL....

07+ STI's have bad luck with pistons. You should be ok, I would still freshen up the motor and do a built block though.

If you want to go aftermarket header get a EL, rather than a UEL. Way better results. What power are you shooting for?

Wait for the rebuild. Those huge power increases will stress the stock components too much and will cause wear and tear real fast.

I would recommend doing a compression and leakdown test first. If everything checks out, go for the mods and it should last ok. If something looks a bit off, hold off on the mods until you do a build.

Thanks
