I wouldnt use a mbc but "safely" i would leave it 14. Remember, boost spikes may occur. Make sure you have an EGT and boost gauge too just to be safe.

1. Post this in the right forum.

2. Do NOT turn up your boost without tuning, EVER! This is a real fast way to destroy your motor, especially in this heat!

you can safely raise stock boost levels as long as you have the basic mods. intake exhaust. raising your boost a couple of psi higher wont hurt ur engine. you dont need a tune just to raise ur boost a couple of psis higher. just make sure you dont go too crazy, boost can be addictive ; )

With tuning you can raise it a lot. Without tuning (and I recommend an EGT gauge) it's motorcide. The Hallman Pro RX MBC is an amazing upgrade.

So,MBC's can be a good mod? From what I hear people say to stay
far away from MBC.How can they be safe? Any links?

On a stock tune, they will cause problems including high EGT's from Partial throttle, full boost (PT/FB). Most aftermarket tunes compensate for this by transitioning from Closed Loop to Open Loop earlier. Still, datalogging after the MBC install and having an EGT gauge is the only way to go IMHO

The advanatage is much better boost response (I hated my slow response when I moved to 4500 foot elevation). On a 3rd gear pull from 2k-redline, I doubt the MBC changes anything, but when driving normally, especially in 1st and 2nd gears, it makes a big difference.
