what's the max boost psi on stock internals

im running a VF 22 turbo and sometimes the boost will climb up to 18-19 psi, is this risky

Whoa!! On an EJ25?

Or is this an EJ20? 18lbs isn't too risky on an EJ20, but it is a little high. I'd be worried about the tranny before I worried about the engine.

We're running MY01 / MY02 WRX cars with 1.25 bar on TD-04L turbos, which is about 18 PSI, and have been running MY98 turbos up to 1.5 bar without any real trouble (other than that particular driver going too fast and wiping out the car on a traffic light... d'oh!). I wouldn't recommend that more than 1.3 bar be used on a regular basis on stock internals, though. Keep an eye on your injector duty cycles and EGTs though....

1.3Bar in a 2.5RS-T would kick ***! Hmmm maybe after changing out all of the internals first.

I'de hazard a guess at about 400 BHP at 1.3 bar out of an EJ25... anyone care to hazard a guess what I'de get from an EG33 at 2 bar with 12:1 compression ?

previously i took my motor to 20-22 psi with nitrous and it was fine. i would not suggest that but as long as you dont lean out you will be fine. be carefull.

I have a friend that didn't know how to work his boost con. and he was running 2 bar on stock everything just about. Well to end this story, he got a new engine.

what turbo did he have to run 2 bar? definately not a stock turbo or an ihi turbo

Not sure, and the boost con. was set to 2 bars, so what the turbo was really pushing in another story.

1.3 bar is what my engine is maxing out on, im thinking about getting a air/fuel gauge to prevent leaning it out on some bad gas

The common AFR gauges out there are for narrow band O2 sensors and are not that accurate. But very useful if you match it with an EGT gauge and don't let it get too hot.

basically...
lean = high egt's
rich = lower egt's
