Legacy GT vs '06 WRX
I was just curious what the difference was between the legacy GT engine and the WRX engine. The legacy is rated at 250 hp, and the WRX at 230 hp, but people are saying the WRX is underated.
So, what are the differences?
Thanks,
CZ

I heard it was the Variable Timing on the Legacy that gives it the extra umph. Do not know for sure....

I thought the 06 WRX had more than 230 hp. The last one only had 227, and the new WRX has half a litre on it. Personally, I don't like the torque curve of the Legacy GT, although I don't blame subaru for making it that way. I havent driven the 06 WRX, but I'm hoping it makes power to 6.5k like the old wrx, and unlike the new legacy.
If you want to know the whole story, a dyno plot would probably be pretty revealing.
