Yes it will be safe. I won't give you my honest opinion about putting it on though.

what you mean by safe? safe for your car?

a short ram intake will not do anything to the car unless you making some major power. there are alot threads about INTAKES, take your time search it, and read some you will get all your answers.

hey look the only problem you will find is that boost creep thing, i have the spt intake, avo down pipe hks high power exhaust agency power pulley and iam runnig the cobb accesport stage 2 93 octane map, the only problem i had was over boost 3 times the first time it was like 56 degrees out when i first installed the map, and that is in 5th gear. but the other part of that is that it was 6 days after i put the map on and it was the first time it was the low of a temp, it was mostly 80 the whole time or more. i have had it on for over a month and a half, 50 60 degrees in the morning no problem anymore. so i guess the ecu compesated for it. that is all i can gather.
unless you some how turn off alll the factory safe guards the ecu usally shuts everything off before it gets to outta hand.

I would skip on the intake idea unless you are making 300whp
or more. The worst that can happen is boost creep is possible
or you will only gain a few whp or none because your car isn't
tuned for it.
Honestly you are better off keeping the stock air box and installing
a K&N replacement air filter.

take out the snorkis(search snorkis delete) and you'll find some things. u'll hear the bov and ur intake will sound more aggressive.
