I'm going for Power mods. need inputs

Hi guys,

I need your suggestions, inputs, criticism, whatsoever help I can get because I'm kinda new at this thing.
Im looking for more power for my 05 STI. I want power in which my car can still be streetable use. I have a few ideas on what I want for my car. I'm looking to get the GT35 turbo Kit, Invidia Downpipe. I'm not sure what ECU should I use, What size fuel rails I need. Do I need to upgrade my Fuel pump, etc.
Basically what I'm looking for is what other aftermarket parts do I need to get to be compatible with the turbo I'm thinking of buying. I know I also need to find a good tuning place but that's after I get all the parts.

Please help me, I don't want to waste money for something that will not benefit my car for more power. I'm leaning more towards JDM parts. But I'll take other products in serious consideration.

Thanks
Leo

With a GT35 turbo, you'll need to upgrade your injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, and intercooler. And you'll need a custom tune on something like a Cobb Accessport. And don't forget to add a suite of gauges so you can monitor your car (always a good idea when making modifications). I would suggest Boost, EGT, oil temp, and fuel pressure.

I would recommend contacting the guys at Gruppe-S who have done several GT35 kits on STi's: http://www.gruppe-s.com/subaru.htm

Start by buying the cobb accessport. With the accessport you can go to stage 1 without changing any engine parts. Stage 1 will give you like 20 more hp and 30 more ft/lbs. of torque. Later when you save up enough for a turboback exhaust you can reflash your car to cobb stage II with the same cobb accessport you bought. Now you'll have about 50 more hp and 80 ft/lbs. of torque. These maps are very fun first upgrades until you can save up for a larger turbo, fuel rails, etc. and a custom Cobb Pro-tune. The great thing about the accessport is it allows you to retain your stock ecu without using piggyback chips, etc. You can also easily revert your car back to stock. Of course there are other engine management systems out there as well, but for me cobb was the simplest and cheapest solution for me.
