Help on Perrin DP and CEL fix

Help on Perrin DP and CEL fix
I installed the Perrin DP, got CEL and flashing cruise control, blah blah...I did a search, but nothing on this issue:
I tried to install the mechanical CEL fix on the O2 sensor on the Perrin DP but there is no way the CEL fix will fit between the DP and the underneath of the car. The space is just to narrow.
Am I missing something? Am I suppose to install the fix in another location?
Help!

Car Info: 2004 STi
the subaru is known to overboost when a downpipe is installed. that is what happened. the car will run fine after the CEL. jsut the annoying flash of your cruise control light.
you will need to find someone with a code reader and have it cleared. i believe it is code 422xxx something..
you will eventually need to get an engine management. either Ecutek or Cobb.
