Boost is a function of backpressure.
That is also important to remember.
14lbs on a stock manifold car will flow less air that 14lbs on a header equiped car. This higher airflow takes longer to produce and therefore may also increase the "appearance" of lag. When in fact you are flowing the same air @ a lower pressure.

Get it?
It's kinda hard to explain.

But just remember: Boost is a function of backpressure.

Oh, and Stainless Steel is wierd.
Leave it in just water, plain old water and you're fine. Add anything organic and you will induce rust.
for example, DeLorean's had SS body panels and if you touched them with your bare hands you would leave little rusty fingerprints. This was discovered the hard way at a nuclear power plant in the 60's.
