Fmic

First, I've got to apoligive for even having to ask this. I checked the search and found nothing on it. I use my STi for a daily driver and wanted to get a FMIC from APS (black on black looks sweet). The thing I was wondering is do you guys driving front mounts day to day take much damage. Like I said, I drive mine everyday and I don't want it to deteriorate from rocks and typical road damage. I want it to stay looking good but if its just going to inevitably get beat up I'll just get a quality top mount like Vishnu's. Another thing I was wondering is would the NXpress CO2 intercooler sprayer work on the top mount. I live in New Orleans where the heat index typically gets over 120 every day in the summer and keeping things cool is an issue. Does anyone have any experience with any oil coolers on their STi's. I'd like to get some feed back. Thanks a lot.

Can I get some feedback? I know people work today which invariably means there are people who own Subaru's doing nothing at their desk. Help me out!!!!!!

if you are affraid of damaging a FMIC, then put some mesh on your bumper to help protect the FMIC from flying objects. A friend of mine has a massive FMIC on his WRX (and I mean MASSIVE) and it looks to be in pretty decent shape (its been on for sometime) and he drives it pretty often. Like I said, just get some mesh for the bumper to protect it (and if you don't want the mesh to be noticable, then get some black mesh) lol, the mesh just isn't for the looks

I too plan on getting the black APS FMIC, and since it is going to be "stealth" because its black, I'm going to put some black mesh on my front bumper to help protect it from damage from rocks/bugs/etc

I can't believe I never thought of that. I guess seeing Civics so riced out with wannabe front mount grills that I didn't realize that you can do it tastefully. I still want to know about the Nitros Express Intercooler spray. Can it work on a TMIC? I think the potential of the stock water spray is limited where I live since it gets hotter than 2 squirrels phuking in a wool sock.

lol... yes, the ricer world has brought much shame to many mods that prove to be useful. Ugh, just don't get red mesh (I saw red mesh on a black Eclipse, not a pretty sight ) I say stick with black (or even silver if you don't want the stealth look). You can also make a piece that would fit into your scoop if you are worried about object flying in there.

Lol, another friend of mine, has an STi. And 2 days after he bought his car, it ate a bird that was flying across the roadway. and when he came to a stop, the bird rolled outta the scoop and flew off.

well, I was glad I could help...

If you are getting a APS hope you have a big turbo making big power or the big lag is going to **** you off. I have a FMIC had it for a while I put a mesh screen in front of it and it works great not too hot out here. My FMIC is blk looks good but you can't see it with the screen.
