When I went to SEMA this year there was an '06 STI with a Perrin FMIC in the Perrin booth. I talked to them and they said it is the same kit from the '05 STI/WRX but you do have to trim the bumper. So if you are willing to trim the bumper (which I definatly would be willing to) then it will fit!

Guys, please don't defeat the language filter that Alex (Imprezer) has in place on i-Club. We all know it's easy to do but Alex really prefers that we allow the filters to do what they're supposed to do and replace the cursing with stars. Thanks.

Uh... to get back on topic...

I absolutly support and use the FMIC from perrin. It is on my 05 STi and is currently supporting 360 whp and it is also on a 500 whp PDX Tuning shop car and has more room for power. You do have to cut the bumper in order to fit it - this can be done very easily and IMO, makes the car look a ton better. Be careful of FMICs that you don't have to cut or trim the bumper, these units probibly won't flow much better than a upgraded TMIC. I would definitly recomend the Perrin unit.

Sup! I did the same thing with the STi that I test drove. Hahaha! Not the same on I bought of course, and that car was bought the next day! Not the same car. The one I purchased had 7 miles on it and was sitting on the show room floor.

I also saw the perrin FMIC on Jeff Perrin's 06 the other week and I did not like it at all. The endtanks were totally visible and seemed like there was enough room on the 06's to fit a much larger core in there.

I also do not like the newest version FMIC kit from perrin because of the BOV location. It uses a hose that's pretty thin and flimsy.

Just wait for more kits to be available in the near future. When i was talking to Jeff I encouraged him to make a larger one available for all cars and that seems to be in the works, so more is to come.

I heard the TXS kit still fits the same with the usual bumper modification but I'm not %100 sure. Just a heads up.

Don't forget, larger cores create bigger resistance to flow which will equal more lag. The current perrin FMIC flows enough for 500 whp and cools the air sufficiently to support the horse power.

I agree on the flimsy tube though... I had a stainless tube fabed up to duplicate the fxn of the silicone tube which came with the kit... It had cost about 60 bucks to do but I think it looks a ton better. I also had everything coated with a red ceramic to match the intake manifold - it make it look better as well.
