EGT Bung Location

Where should i put the EGT Bung at to get a good reading?

Up stream or downstream of the turbo, i'm thinking downstream cause you wouldn't want the heat from the turbo to affect the reading, but i'm hoping dwonstream cause i'm gonna have the dp off anyways

A lot of people who install EGT gauges take off their exhaust manifold and drill/tap a hole in it for the probe. The exact placement of this probe is a HOT topic! Do a search.....you will run across threads discussing it.

I haven't done mine yet but I've been told by several other members that you should tap the manifold for the best reading.

thanks guys

also, i'm taking off the turbo anyways to have thewastegate ported, could i just drill and tap the manifold while its still on the car and then try to start it to blow out the shavings,

basically i'm tryin to take off as little as possible, plus i don't want to run the risk of possibly damaging any other gaskets, if i dont need too
