Class: Performance Gauges 101 (for newbies)
I want to install gauges for my 05 STi and I believe that the Defi gauges are the ones that look closer to the stock gauges (red). This is the first time I own a turbo car so I am really new at all this gauges stuff... so please answer the following questions and teach me how to be a pro at gauge reading and stuff.
1) First, where should I put my gauges? I am planning to install 3 of them... A-Pillar or on dashboard? If installed on the dashboard, what happens to the stock clock?
2) Which gauges should I include in my 3? I know that there are gauges for turbo boost, water temp, oil temp, and others... but which 3 are ESSENTIAL and the BEST to have?
3) Now, from the selection on question 2, how exactly do I read these gauges? What is considered "normal" status (in other words, what should each gauge be reading under normal conditions)? What is considered "warning" status (in other words, when should I be worried that I am overworking the engine, etc.) and so forth?
4) Anything else that you might want to add?
Thanks guys!

i have the defi bf red's mounted in a defi center gauge pod. don't need the clock (that's what watches and cell phones are for). the gauges are sweet and match the sti gauge cluster nicely. i'll be posting some pics on in the project forum shortly.
