Check out the new APS DR 725 FMIC!

We just finished installing it on our shop car. The changes made from the old fmic includes less "soft pipes", polished finish and polished coolant resivore.

This thing is big and beautiful, very high quality and perfect fit.

Let me know if you have any questions.

$1,500! That's sick too...in a bad way. Not a moving part on it... To think one could buy a nice new laptop computer, with hundreds of high tech state-of-the-art parts for that much, that took thousands of hours to design, for the same amount of money....makes ya wonder how high their margin of profit is.

I think the prices for any of the ICs...FM, TM, are outrageous. Excuse me...it's a bunch of metal welded together! Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's very well crafted...but still...it's not made out of solid sterling silver...

No thanks...I'm not trying to make 700 hp. I'll buy a TMIC for $800 and save $900 (including the labor) by not getting that extra 20 hp.

Its the price we pay to play. But think of all the R&D that goes into everything APS makes. Your right not everyone needs this intercooler, It is a very large intercooler meant to support large amounts of horsepower. If you need a topmount let me know and I can get yo ua good deal on a good topmount.
Thanks
Rick

What most ppl like this do not understand about FMIC vs TMIC on our cars is that the difference is much mor ethan just numbers. A FMIC will change the entire powerband on an sti as well as the responsiveness.

Say for example that you are running a stock turbo on a FMIC. You will notice a bit more lag but not much. You will not see an extra 20HP because the limitation is the flow of the turbo not the intercooler at stock power levels.

Now say you are running a bigger turbo like Green or Zilla or SR55 or Rotated GT series. By adding a FMIC you will not decrease responsiveness by more than 100 rpms if at all. But you will move your powerband to the upper rpm range and potentially make more power.

IMO, FMIC is a great addition ONLY if you are running a larger turbo. I know rallisport knows this and will say the same thing to their customers but I figured I'd give the ppl on this thread a bit of info based on my experience.

What's that got to do with the outrageous price? You're quoting me as if it does.
