BOV thinking of greddy type s

Ok fellaz. I'm no noob so I just want to hear some thoughts. I let go of my WRX a few months ago and now I am a proud owner of a 04 STi. I have been to Cobb stage 2 with GFB BOV, stock air box and silencer elbo delete with much success on WRX. I've always liked the sound of GFB. However, after I heard the Greddy type S on my friends DSM I just have to get one now. Anyone using this valve pleased? Now I don't plan on venting 100%. I am going to use the recirculating pipe to the intake. (hopefully no MAF issues there) Will this kill the sound? My thoughts are that this will so I also decided maybe I should try the K&N intake to amp up the sound a bit. Thoughts anyone?

from what i hear, running it back into the intake will take away alot if not all of the sound. there was a guy that had a hks bov on an evolution that was running back into the intake... it sound like a aftermarket bov but it wasn't like you could hear it when it pass by.

i got the greddy type S on my STI but its causing some buck and idle problems.. its at 100% recirc. I dont know how to make it 50/50 if you even can cause there is only one horn which is supposed to connect to the intake

sounds mean as hell though

If you weren't a noob, you would know to search before asking. Do so, and you can be rewarded with great things. This topic has been covered an extremely large amount of times.

Any BOV on a stock STi (or near stock, for that matter) will not do anything, and can actually hurt performance.

this one? "SUB WRX B.O.V. KIT 2002-ON Type S reroutes to intake 11561001 $295.00 "

if so... why are you doing this for the sound or because you'll be running higher boost soon?

IMO... i dont think that you'll hear much difference than the stock bov w/siliencer delete. if you just want to up the sound of your stock bov, this method would be pointless. get a 50/50 bov. if your going to up your boost then get it. my 2c

Hey boss man, I am aware of the problems that can come with a BOV. I was just wanting to hear about how people like the Greddy type S. Now it sounds like it doesn't work to well. I did do a search using "greddy bov" for key words and found very little on this BOV. I'll make sure and search harder next time before I ask a question.

I plan on going Cobb stage 2 with Access tuner before anything. I'm going to scrap the intake idea as well for now. My goals for later this year are APS SR40 on the Access tuner. Maybe then go with the APS intake and BOV.

Thanks for your help everyone.
