dont get a bov for an STI hinders performance and makes trust me causes problems use less noise maker port waste gate and headers intake no cold air useless with a turbo aswell dp and exhaust save the 125 plus and get a used front lip or save for rims good luck dont waste your money until you finish doing useful stuff

punctuation is your friend =P

JXN i think he's trying to say that the bov will throw off the A/F Ratio in your car because the ecu is expecting the additional intake charge from the stock recirculating valve. If you didn't know that already, it might be something to consider, i've heard very few stories of people using a bov without tuning that have not lost power or increased lag. Just be prepared for some minor issues if you go with a bov in the end. If you want noise, the HKS SS blows off in reverse

I mean, i've heard people with it blow off while going in reverse and letting off. If the bov does not vent to atmosphere, then it wouldn't mess up the a/f ratio. If by regular intake you're talking about short rams, there are threads on them already, just do a search and you should find the answers you're looking for.

From: Are you too one of the few still living the past? Well I can change that! With a simple wicket. Yes, my friend, a wicket. PM for details.
Car Info: No car right now....sob.

Ask anyone around here, the stock intake is the best.

Don't get a BOV until you do some serious mods. First things first, get a new exhaust.

If you have no plans to make more power down the line, a blowoff valve won't really hurt except to cause a little hesitation between shifts.

Ummmm, no. There is zero performance to be gained by a blow off valve unless you are running more boost than the stock bypass valve can hold.

Yes, the recirculating valve that comes stock is factored in by the ecu when doing a/f calculations. Its not there to deliberately restrict anything, and coverting that intake charge in to a sound instead of plumbing it back in to the intake will do some funky stuff and affect drivability of the car overall. If you get an aftermarket recirc that does 100% recirc but makes more noise in the process, then by all means go for it if you like.
