Boost creep with catted down pipes

Has any one had boost creep issues with a downpipe with a built in high flow cat. I'm looking at getting the helix dp with cat and need to know. I will eventually be getting the cobb AP but I don't want to have boost creep for the next 4-5 months. thanks. p.s. I have an '04 sti.

Yea, I heard some people complain about still getting boost creep with a high flow cat. What setup are you trying to run?

i was also wondering the same thing from people who have this setup? and not to hijack the thread but does having the AP eliminate creep? the way you worded the question made it sound like it did.

thanks

from what I understand the AP can eliminate boost creep. there are a low and high waste gate maps you can download. I have the apex'i GT Spec cat back and the k&n Typhoon intake right now. I would really like to get a down pipe but I want one that won't cause boost creep, other wise I'm gonna have to wait till I can get the AP.

Engine management does not eliminate boost creep. What it can do is not allow it to cause fuel cut. You'll still overboost- 20+ psi is not unheard of, and that's too high on a VF39- but you won't get the instant fuel cut and misfire codes from it.It's the lesser of two evils.

so, would I be alright to get the helix catted downpipe right now and just not push my car till I got the turbo ported and polished. Also does anyone know of any places in the central PA area where I can get a port and polish. Would I be able to easily do this my self with air tools? Any suggestions would be appreaciated. thanks.
