I checked the oil again today. It seems that I have burned 1/4 off the dip stick. after a little over 2000 miles. I thought it was worse than it seems. I'll check again today.
As far as the boosting... I have switched to the LWG cobb 2+ map. I was on the TP stage 2 map and over boosted to 22.3psi at one point. I did throw a code of P0244 which I understand as being the waste gate code.
I am getting inconsistency in boost now so I am leaning toward a bad turbo BUT... I have my compression/leakdown on thursday so I will know for sure then.
Another thing I discovered yesterday. I drove the long way home and noticed that I seem to be able too replicate the -5.0 knock when I am around 2000-2800 rpm and going up a hill. I am feeling I have a combination of issues here.

----------Listed worse to best--------------
* Slightly fractured ring land (how long can I drive on this?)
* Toasty turbo (I still need too remove the intercooler, I bet there is a significant amount of oil in there)
* Vacuum Leak (What's the best way to check for this?)
* Am I missing anything????

The only noises that I am hearing from my engine bay are abnormal and elongated wooshing and whistling especially when I press the throttle.

Some people on here report oil loss of up to one quart between changes. I have never had that problem, so I havent looked into the major causes.

This, combined with this...

... leads me to believe its a turbo issue of some sort. Check your intake and turbo inlet for tears, signs of damage, and potential leak points. Also, crawl underneath and feel around for any leaks around your uppipe and manifold. As you stated, a good place to start would be to pull the IC and see how much oil buildup is in there. If that looks ok, I'd track down the cause for the wastegate code and go from there. Seems to me that any unaccounted for air - loss on the hot side/unmetered coming in on the cold side - could potentially cause the car to overboost while trying to compensate.

A pretty good thread on finding vacuum leaks here.

Ok, got the car in a day early. Think good thoughts on the compression/leakdown!

They took a look and said I was above average in consumption and pointed at the turbo as the likely cause. TD-05 18G with meth here I come!!!

Wondering if the soot you are seeing on bumper/exhaust tips is just as a result of oil being drawn into intake tract from normal PCV system operation? You can check by looking inside intake tube immediately before turbo & turbo itself at inlet to compressor. If so, Air/Oil Separator or Catch Can would solve this. I'm looking at Crawford AOS to solve this on mine. Oil (mist) getting into air/fuel mixture at this point can cause misfires/knock/plug fouling/soot (possibly).

As for Cobb OTS map, I run Cobb OTS Stage 1 + AEM 91 Octane (California, Nevada, Arizona) map. I get knock at about same RPM/load conditions as you. Also, surgey (not a word) feeling under boost. Supposedly this is common with Cobb OTS maps. I only know what my car does.

My 2¢. Hope it helps.

Hey brother, thanks! I am glad I am not alone. But, as the drama unfolds I am discovering some other things. First of all... I am installing the crawford catch can this weekend but besides that I have ordered some new exhaust gaskets too put on this weekend as well.
But here is the funny/irritating part...

It turns out that the shop that did my stage 2 install DID NOT torque the bolts down on my turbo/downpipe, They were all super loose and one wasn't nut wasn't even on, so I fixed that! My BOV was leaking and had some oily **** in it so I fixed that. Had an after intake hose clam that wasn't seated properly, so I fixed that. I am getting under my car this weekend to do all the gaskets which sould fix this f-in whistling that I am getting plus I am removing the TMIC and hoses to clean them. Do you know a good way to clean out the intercooler?

I am running the stage 2 Torque performance map right now and am not really liking it. I am hoping to go with a brenn tuning stage 2 map. (if they do one) I heard that they do a great job. Plus I am originally from NH and they are also fellow New Englanders so I feel I should support them. I am not quite ready for my pro tune.

Holla!!!!
