Question 06 wrx stage 1 cali maps Vs. stage 1 map?

wat would happen if i run a non cali maps? is it safe enough for me to run it? right now im running cali stage 1 as a base. pls help. thanks

I would stick with the CA specific maps for added safety with our crap gas. I don't think you'll be leaving any noticeable power on the table by running the CA map.

Try running a RT stage 2 and CA stage 2 back to back. See if you can feel a difference in performance or if you notice any detonation.

Get a protune if you want to be safe.

it's all in the octane, most of the Cali maps are set for 91 while others are set for higher octane that's available in other states

i dont think i can run Stage 2 without a downpipe, thats my next goal then illl get it protuned. i think imma stay with stage 1 cali maps. are u running cali maps? how is it on urs? any problem?

I'm running CA maps, and everything has been fine. I'm getting a tune on Monday, so I'll soon find out how safe my CA map is when I do a base run.

according to cobb's site the difference is only like 5 hp. Not enough to risk any damage. If you really want to run a 93 map throw some octane booster in you tank first

I think your talking 91 stage 1 vs 91 CA stage 1? Well I am running non CA 91 stage 2 and have been fine so far. I always use good gas no AM PM and have noticed no problems.
