ok... your list is excessive...Originally Posted by xsirrusx

I previously had an all engine hatchback, so I am new to the turbo thing. I have an 06 wrx and I want to make it closer to 300hp, ect…. I want to keep it sleeper status. Here is my agenda. Please let me know your inputs and arguments on the following: -Cobb Access Port
-Helix Up/Down Pipe
- HKS BOV (too many BOV arguments so this is still in question)
- Greddy Boost Control
-STI Injectors
Check it out...
First and foremost... increase the efficiency... get some silicone intercooler hoses and a lightened, BUT NOT UNDERDRIVEN, pulley...
next.. Cobb Stage I...
Then... Helix Catted DP/Borla Hush combo work VERY well to keep the sleeper factor...
Reflash to Stage II...
Youre done... go run 4.7 second 0-60 times and mid 13 1/4 miles

* as a note... You wont need injectors until a turbo upgrade. the 06 ones are reportedly way beefier than previous MYs... Also... why fuxx with a boost controller??? Cobb reflashed program the boost for you =
If you have any questions/concerns, or just want to do more research... Check out Cobbtuning.com.... their upgrade path is proven and reliable... nothing but good.. and if you want some generally unbiased reviews about products without having to actually spend the money on it... go to the reviews section
People like us have tried products and made a review on it... hopefully, unbiased... However, also consider the general psychological rule of our nature... we are more likely to hop online and rip a product to shreds if it pissed us off... however, if it works fine, we may not even bother to "file a complaint" or even praise it... So among whats written, use common sense...BOVs are pointless... There are some LESS harmful ones out there like Worx tuning, etc.. But with adjustable BOVs, youre also more prone to leaks and stuff going wrong...
The safer route? Ah, my son youve been so patient
Remove your snorkus... Intake Silencer, whatever... you can run a search on this: try, snorkus delete, snorkelectomy, intake silencer delete, etc in your search... Buy a GPMoto intake elbow, which essentially replaces the stock elbow (which contains the silencer)... This frees up some turbo spooling sound and plumb back(the bov woosh), and MIGHT be good for 1 hp if youre optimisticCombine an unsilenced intake with downpipe/borla... youve got a sick boxer beating rumble at low throttle... you can scoot around town with people looking out of the corner of their eye to hear what that beat was.... but it wont be "loud" by any means... Romp on the throttle and hear your baby open up to reveal its evil intentions, but again, NOT ear piercing... just an intention-driven growl with a spooling turbo
Can we say SEX?

Slight correction to that - Get a titek catted downpipe - they are about 70 dollars more, actually available, and fit MUCH better. Search around for the helix V3 catted downpipes and you will see nearly everyone has complained.

Hmm, ill run a search... To be honest, Im looking to buy a mazdaspeed3, so ive been out of the scooby game for the last few months... Havent been up to date on products... Just came here to do a little helping work
I love this community. The reason I praise the catted Helix, is the design, value, performance, etc... To be honest, in a perfect world, Id opt for the cobb... if price isnt an issue, thats probably one of the best in the market.

Damn, that Titek is gorgeous...

Silencer delete makes the intake very loud in previous experience with other cars. Is that the case with the wrx? I am willing to add intake if necessary, but I don't want to get a lot of noise from it. My previous car ran AEM cold air with silencer delete and it was so fuxxx'n loud it practically shook the dash. It was louder than the 3" straight pipe exhaust in the driver's seat!
anyone know how the SPT shorty intake is from personal experience??

No. Its not excessive... Try it and see. Its subtle, but apparent.
Truth is, with the money/time spent R&Ding the ram air system of the stock WRX, i wouldnt touch it... reputable tuners have noted that ANY intake system out there does absolutely nothing significant... however, there are dynos showing otherwise... its really an ongiong debate... and in the Subaru community, some think CAI/SR are things to frown at. Which is a huge reason why the silencer delete is popular enough that GPmoto and several other companies made an elbow for it.
Its one of those... if it aint broke, dont fix it deals... Trust me... other than SOUND, there is NOTHING to gain from CAI/SRs

And unless you get tuned for it, it hurts you. Your current intake system is already a cold air intake, and by getting an aftermarket one you are just drawing in heated air from the engine bay.

you should not have to worry about smog because you dont need to get checked for 6 years
