06 turbo question
If i were to put an 04 STI turbo and intercooler on my 06 wrx, all i need is the fuel pump , downpipe, and headers?(since the injectors are big enough) Would i still need tuning?

anytime you change out performance parts its recommended to get a tune. If you are going to change out the turbo, go with a huge front mount intercooler and an FP green. Then you will have a super sleeper on your hands. Just make sure you have the stopping power also.

hahahh! yes u have to get fuel pump. u dont have to get new injectors coz 06's have bigger injectors than the sti's. u can get it tuned if u want to or u could just download the map from cobb. what kinda engine management are u using?
Do you really need the headers to switch to a VF? I already have a Turboback, AP, and an STi intercooler on the way, I want to be able to switch out the turbo soon if I find a good deal. What size fuel pump would you recommend?
Wow alot of misinformation going on here. Here is the simplest way to run the STI turbo (VF39) in an 06 WRX.
1. Some kind of Turbo back exhaust (downpipe and Catback)
2. Some kind of tunning. The cobb access port has a map for the VF39 (Stage 3)
3. A larger Top mount. The STI intercooler works or you can get an ebay top mount for around 200.
4. And ofcourse the STI turbo
This is all you need! Header and fuel pump are nice things to have, but they are not needed.
