Red face 06 sti blown engine

My o6 Sti engine blew on me, that i know of from mechanic! but could be a spun bearing that went out? Have not open the engine yet but planning to soon within a week, just to prep the engine for rebuild if possible? Stock 06 sti motor mounts are bull**** break hella easy ESPECIALY THE PITCH STOP UPGRADE TO A BEATRUSH OR INGS, I GOT THE BEATRUSH FORGED PITCH STOP FOR ABOUT $93 DOLLARS. Back to engine, planning to get, GS650LR - 2.5 Short Block from
gruppe-s mid april, with also cobb ap2, helix rr500 turbo, injectors, fuel pump and tune! hoping that this project will be done by late april!

Sounds like a plan.
My sti short block that I picked up had shredded bearings, no cylinder damage but gouged the poo out of the crank. I found a local shop that will resurface the crank for $125, if they have to weld in some metal it will run $20 a main or rod journal.
Its not that expensive to have the work done. I am personally going TWE on most of my stuff. I love there short blocks but since I’m doing a hybrid it doesn’t make any since.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
PS, what clutch are you running!! If your snapping motor mounts that easy, that’s some hard engagement.

I'm confused...
"yea it was not stock. I have a megan cat back exhaust"
If you have an exhaust upgrade, how is that stock?

How hard were you driving to where you "broke tranny mounts"? How many miles does you car have on it?
