Nobody asks much about the WRX's tumble valves. Has anybody played with these? They are similar to a throttle plate, right? Has anybody profiled them and the shafts for more airflow? Or done away with them altogether?
At what point do the butterflies open? Is it based on:
RPM?
Manifold pressure?
Throttle position?
Engine temp?
or a combination?
It seems popular for alot of owners to uncork their stock exhaust by using aftermarket up/downpipes, why is there no aftermarket setup to increase airflow into the heads? Or do the TGVs not restrict power much?
Any dynamometer numbers out there?

They're for
cold idle emmissions as far as I know. You can get tumble generator valve delete units from APS. I've read posts that say that idle is compromised if not truly jacked when these are deleted. Some models didn't have them at all.

I got the aps tgv deletes on thursday and they are a complete bolt on set with the motors to prevent the ecu from noticing that they are gone therefore preventing any cel's the shop thats installing them have done it on two other wrxs and they said that idle and everything else isn't affected.
