Question WRX Side Airbag Question?

If I put new seats in my car (Sparco's), is it going to throw the airbag light? I am wondering because I have my eye on a set of Sparco Corsas.

Thanks,
Andy

Yes it will but it is easy to defeat via resistor. My homie Dave has done it. No problems. It should be childs play for one of your caliber...

From the info I have seen a 3-ohm resistor can be used to replace a removed side airbag. I haven't verified this myself, just passing it along.
The resistor mod for the EGT sensor uses a 2.2K ohm, they are not interchangeable.

Ok guys the resistor should be a 3 ohm not K or Kilo ohm. and also 5 watt.. I got mine at FRY's. Before anyone goes out let me take pics of it so you can see it.. and BadWRX maybe you can see mine and we can get one so we know for sure what it really is.. sorry guys its been that long...

almost forgot if anyone can check this part number 98299PA040 from subaru its a plug for the seat belt harness that has a 3 ohm resistor. but I think its cost like $70 or so if Im correct.

Air bag

And the 5 watt thing is how much the resistor can handle before it blows or something like that... I got the 5 watt cause they were out of the 2 watt. so far it works....
