Wrx gurus help...should be simple!!

So i had a boost gauge installed yesterday and i think it was put in wrong location....tapped into the evap solenoid(i believe not sure) on the left side of the alternator that goes into the intake manifold....through a evap sensor cel...then he cleared it but im only gettin 7psi boost.....already disconnected battery and cleared ecu through cobb ap...never had the code before so i know nothing went bad right then

Definitely not correct. I'm not entirely sure how the evap system works but I know that at 5-7psi the purge valve opens up... so that explains why you're only seeing that much boost. There are several lines you can T into for a boost reading, by far the easiest is this one...

On a side note- you should probably avoid letting whoever installed that touch your car ever again. Since all the hard work is already done, I would encourage you to move the T over to the correct line yourself.
