would some one please help me out
hows it, anyone think they could throw a guess of what is wrong here . I have noticed a slight consumption of oil and it has been
maybe about three times i have had to add at least a 1/2 quart of oil to my engine. i read on a post that one cause of oil consumption could be caused to improper seat of the piston rings
due to failure of breaking in the engine properly . And if anyone was wondering i did not break in my engine properly , my excuse
is no one told me about any kind of breakin procedure i didn't see
anything in the manual when i finally found out i read about it here know im really scared that there could be some thing really wrong with my car . is there any test or somthing i could do to see if this is something going on in my engine.
thank you

Mario,
Do a compression test and see if you have any variation in the cylinders, (forgot psi. per cyl)
Anything more than 10% variation from one cylinder to the next could be worn ring/s.
How many miles do you get before you add the 1/2 quart?

"Supposedly" a lot of car manufactuers consider it "normal" to burn 1/2 quart between changes......
Personally I think its bullsh%t, But I was told that by a couple of dealers when I had different cars.
How old is your REX, how many miles you got on it.
Check inside your tail pipe and see if it feels "oily",, Black soot is O.K, but if it feels greasy or you see blue smoke (not white) you "may" have a prob.
Best I can do from here.
