Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

What would you do?

Heres my dyno sheet.

So get rid of the afc and get the accessport? Sounds like a good start i guess. Anything else other than the accessport then?

Might I add a few suggestions that will save you some discomfort in the long run???

You can add a bit to your 1k budget... (drumroll please...) by selling that CAI!!! That is truly working against you if anything... Place the stock intake system back (and replace the Snorkus with a GPMoto intake elbow delete, if you still want the sound)

Also, remove the UNDERDRIVEN Pulley, and consider either leaving the stock one in place... or purchasing the Perrin unit, which is NOT underdriven, but it is MUCH lighter than factory and therefore wont mess with any electrical stuff like the underdriven one does..

A Stage 2 Accessport will land you consistently in mid 13 territory with good launches... For 12s?? Ehhh... I dont think the factory turbo will get you there... Just do some research on the turbos that will get you what you want... There are large units that will give you SIGNIFICANT lag, but then makeup for it in higher RPM, to give you low 12s... But this will come at the expense of slow onset of power... and that may be something you wouldnt want to deal with on a daily driving basis.... Is running low 12's second goal your primary objective? or do you want a faster spooling turbo that will provide a rush of driving excitement but with less top end yielding high 12s? Certain sacrafices you may want to consider...

Also N2O is a drug.. Drugs are bad mMmmKay?

A suggestion regarding your leaking shocks... Koni yellow inserts are a GREAT setup... but you will have to use your factory housings... If you know a shop that can fabricate these for you... do it... or you can do it yourself with some simple hand tools...

Have I missed anything? Hmm... looks like Egans covered the rest!

Goodluck!

Ok, i just got a deal on a big16g, RC 550cc injectors and walbro 255lhp fuel pump for 1k shipped. All parts are brand new in box. What do you guys think? Should i go with this setup? Will i acheive my 12.2-12.3 quarter mile time with this turbo setup and 300whp+ ? Thanks,

Dave

I doubt you'll hit 12.2 with that setup. For comparison, my old WRX wagon was capable of 12.6/12.7 on a VF34/pink injectors (550cc or so)/pump/etc. For drag racing, I'd suggest stepping up to the 18g. My buddy runs it on his wagon and it's quick, but still streetable.

If you really want to do an aftermarket turbo, please save up your money so you can get engine management at the same time.

BTW, even if that 16g won't hit 12.2 on 91 octane, with a Cobb AP, you can switch maps to one setup for 100 octane (or any other mixture), and that will go a long way towards meeting your goals.
