They use a TD04 turbo. I believe Mitsubishi makes them.

Thanks for the help!! You wouldn't happen to have the specs on it would you? FOr max boost it can handle...etc...??? Or know where I can find the info on it? I did a quick search on-line, but came back with like 3,000 websites!!

It is a Mitsubishi turbo, but I don't know the exact flow specs, etc. The bypass valve (on my '02 WRX for sure), is also from a first gen. Eclipse/Talon. Mitsu really knows their turbo stuff. But not much else.

It’s a Mitsu TD04 13T and from what I’ve read you don’t want to push it over 17 psi (not sure though). I have a 02 stage 2 with 85K, I’ve been pushing 16 psi for around 30K and the oil seals on the turbo are going bad.

Try doing a google or yahoo search, type TD04 13T and you should be able to get a better answer.

For reliability issues you don't want to push them too hard but I've seen stock WRXs running far in excessive of 17lbs.

If you run a TD04 13T far in excessive of 17lbs you will be blowing a lot of hot air. Hot air not only hurts reliability it also kills performance.

haha I do agree with you there and although that car may not have lasted too long (he traded it on for an STi so I'll never know) but it ran like a scalded dog. Faster than a stock STi for sure.

The 13T roughly puts up 390cfm @ 14.5psi. Just a little more than the 13G pumping 360cfm @ 14.5 psi.
