Keep your chin up, Jess. You'll be home to your car in no time.

another good intake for the STI is the K&N shortram...it is krinkle red and also put 12WHP in 113 degree ambient air temp, another good turboback is GP moto is cheap and put alot of HP in my buddys STI, but be sure to port your wastegate or you will have boost creep like mad...

Exhaust: Whichever one you think sounds best. Any 3", mandrel bent, high-flow muffler type will make about the same power. Make sure you get a bellmouth or divorced wastegate downpipe design. Adding a highflow cat won't cut much power and keeps the cops off your back.
Engine management: No piggybacks, go with a reflash from an EcuTek dealer. If you're really gung-ho about tuning the car yourself, get a good standalone setup.
Hope this helps, although it's not the answer you were looking for.

I agree...Figure out exactly what it is you are trying to accomplish with your car and if it's lacking in that department, mod that. As stated on other posts, the best thing to do is to learn to max out your car with driving skills and then upgrade (I am NOT saying that you are a bad driver.) The intake question has been discussed to death at this point. I would throw a k&n in and either hack off or replace the silencer with an elbow.
Just my opinion there....have fun.
