Best turbo back exhaust, best place to get a tune

im planning on modding my 05 sti. i allready ordered an access port, and and i need to get a turbo back exhaust to go along with it. obviousley, performance is number one for me, but i also want something that sounds mean. any suggestions? also, any advice on best place to get the exhaust installed and the car tuned.

There are lots of good tuners in Northern CA. I recommend Ed/Eq Tuning.

Good Luck!

as long as the DP is a bellmouth, and the exhaust is 3 inches any brand is okay. of course the lighter the better.

thanks guys, i do want something loud, but i dont want to be getting pulled over all the time, so i guess i want something thats only real loud when i get up on it. . . i've also heard good things about the aps turboback. anyone have any experience with it? also, on the aps website it says that the 3.5 inch race exaust is good for 600+ hp apps. would their be any drawbacks to getting that exhaust if im only going to be pushing like 350 or so at the wheels?

Just picked up a maddad 3" TBE and had it installed at LIC Motorsports in novato. Highly recommend these guys.

Car sounds amazing, and can definitely notice the increased power with the AP stage 2 map.

Either Tanabe Medallion Concept G, Greddy Evo 2, or Cobb exhausts would be fairly quiet unless gettin on it.

I prefer the Tanabe exhaust w/ Cobb downpipe.

Two cents

One of my two cents would go with Paul at DB tuned. The other would say dont chase horsepower from a dyno. Its like playing World of Warcraft, when it comes down to it nobody gives a damn about your level 86 Paladin.

Bunch of tuners all over the place. There is Mike @ GST, Ed @ EQ Tuning, and I hear that Paul @ EIP does tuning as well. Might one to give each a call and choose the one you like. Paul @ dbtuned, I hear, is great as well, but the drive from the Bay to Roseville probably isn't that appealing.

FLI is pretty far for him to get tuned

you have a lot of options relatively close to you, especially GST which isnt very far at all and i've heard mike is pretty damn good at what he does. but on the other hand, im sure all of these guys are really good
