Vishnu Stage Zero

Anyone out there have or know someone that has the Vishnu Stage Zero. If so what are your opinions? Also, would I be correct to assume adding a stage zero to my '04 WRX would totally void my engine warranty?

i think the chances of you voiding is fairly high. You might be able to hide it...

I got a Vishnu Stage Zero on my 02 wagon, it was great. So great that I went back and got a Stage 1 (added their Signature cbe). Performance, sound, and umphh is excellent.

On the downside... I had several several leaks with the initial uppipe they provided. It all went away when they replaced it with a flex uppipe.

I don't know for sure.. but I imagine that the warranty gets voided when you do that. I agree that you should find a "friendly" dealer. Santa Cruz is rumoured to be one (I have yet to take my car to a dealer since getting the Vishnu stuff installed).

Keep all your original stuff (uppipe, pulley, etc). If you even have a problem that is expensive, and should be covered by warranty. It might be worth the time/money to put the originals back, and then take the car in to the dealer.

Thx everyone for the feedback. I have yet to stop in to Santa Cruz Subaru. I bought my WRX at Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA. Has any one dealt with those guys on warranty issues?

Stevens Creek Subaru is a bunch of **** *** holes, and that's for everything, not just warranty.
When it comes to mod-friendly dealers, Santa Cruz is it!

I don't think I got a bad deal on the price (23,598 w/ premium package), I did get suckered into the extended warranty though. I also got the impression that they were a pain in the *** to deal with.
On the Vishnu Stage Zero- is anyone out there running this on an '04 WRX?

On the subject of extended warranties, I was unethically baited into signing for an extended warranty by Stevens Creek (long story). Do yourself a favor and cancel the warranty. BY LAW, YOU HAVE 60 DAYS TO CANCEL AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND RECEIVE A FULL REFUND. As hard as it is at time to get Subaru to honor their 3yr/36K mile bumper to bumper warranty, it will be even harder to push for warranty work if you have the slightest bit of mods on your car. Save the money in your bank account (or pay off your loan faster) w/ the warranty money. Just my $.02 cents.

SsTiNgEr77- Thanks for the offer, but I not yet sure what mods I will be doing to my '04 wrx. It is an everyday driver, but I still want better handling and more power. What are your thoughts on Vishnu products in general?

I have a vishnu stage one with an i-speed reflash. Personally I like the guys at i-speed and they are in san jose. You won't go wrong with either.

Anything aftermarket that causes problems with your car will most likely void your warrenty on that item. Engine reflashes, however, are very safe and very well tested.

well, as with any uppipe, you get rid of that pre - turbo cat so your turbo will spool a lot faster, also your EGT's will decrease as all cats raise temperatures a lot.

then the tuning which visnu does is very good as everyone knows so you can't go wrong... As for the $, you could probably piece together a "Stage - Zero" yourself rather than get their package deal and save some money... But it wont be the same

But there are many options out there...

countless uppipes on the market, I suggest a FLEX joint

Perrin / Samco / Vishnu all make IC hoses

GFB / Zerosports / Perrin / Vishnu etc. make the crank pulley

Tons of reputable tuners to choose from,

The best part about a stage "zero" though imo, is that you can still pass smog with it... whereas removing the downpipe cats will most likely cause you to fail...Hope this helps
