Is vishnu stage sub zero right for me???
I have around $600 saved up now and am ready to start my first modifications. I am thinking about the vishnu stage sub zero ecu reflash. Is this a healthy way to
gain power? My car is completely stock and if I get this reflash, my car will remain stock for a while, is this the right mod for safe and powerful straight line speed?
Oh, and the other night I raced an rsx type-s (sounded like he had intake and headers) on the highway from a 60 mph roll up to 107, and it beat me by half a car? Am I a bad driver or is my wrx not a high speed competitor? Oh and is the AWD full time and if not is it rear wheel drive?
Thanks for any input, I really need your help people because im getting jacked up by my friends cars I should be burning but I am practicing my driving skills.

Repetitive reflashing will deteriorate your ecu, but, it's doubtful that you'll reflash that often. Likewise, if you get a good quality map to begin with, it should have reliability comparable with the factory unit. Any time you increase power in a mechanical system, you will decrease the life of the system. In other words, any modification you make to your car that makes it more powerful, eg exhaust, boost controller, also shortens the life of your car. Or the timespan until you have to make repairs. Compared to other changes, an ecu reflash is just as "safe". Personally, I'd go with the Cobb.
